How to Make an FOI Request

Please note that a large amount of information about DIT and its functions is publicly available without the need to make a Freedom of Information request. Those seeking information should, in the first instance, consult DIT's FOI Publication Scheme at: http://www.dit.ie/about/ditpublicationscheme/.

If the information you require cannot be found here, please use the search function to establish if the information is currently available on the DIT website. Otherwise please contact our Public Affairs Office on 01 402 7138 or 01 402 7130. You may also make direct contact with staff in relevant departments - contact details can be found on the DIT website.

Under the FOI Act, a record includes any papers, memorandum, text or other document, any photograph, film or recording or any form in which data are held (whether manual, mechanical or electronic), and anything that is a part or a copy, or a combination of the foregoing.

Access to information under the FOI Act is subject to certain exemptions. Should DIT decide to withhold information under any of these exemption provisions, the specific exemption clause which has been invoked will be clearly explained.
