Access Service

‌‌‌'Access TU Dublin- City Campus' is aimed at school leavers, from socio economically disadvantaged backgrounds who would like to study a full time undergraduate course in TU Dublin - City Campus.

Access TU Dublin - City Campus   Closing date April 12th 2019 -  5pm 


 

 The benefits of applying are:

  •  Application Support from TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service staff
  •  Reduced points CAO offers for courses in TU Dublin - City Campus provided you meet the minimum entry requirements.

Supports for Students who have accepted a place via an Access Entry Route include:

  •  TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service Orientation programme before you begin your programme
  •  Financial Advice and guidance (There are student financial assistance funds available, in addition to the SUSI grant)
  •  Support from staff in the TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service
  •  A dedicated Peer Mentor throughout your first year of college
  •  Additional academic support if required
  •  Volunteering and Leadership opportunities

 

To apply to Access TU Dublin - City Campus you:

1. Must be applying to CAO on the basis of your leaving cert results for full time undergraduate entry to TU Dublin - City Campus Autumn 2019.

2. Applicants must be under the age of 23 years on January 1st 2019

3. Must meet one of the following:

        Currently attending/have attended one of the Access TU Dublin- City Campus Partner Schools or Access TU Dublin - City Campus Link Schools
Or

 Be in the care/recently in the care of the Health Service Executive (HSE) / Tusla

Or

Be a member of the Traveller community

Or

Be resident in one of the following post codes – Dublin 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 20, 22, 24

Or

 Submit a letter of support, written by a relevant person, with your application stating that Access TU Dublin - CIty Campus is appropriate for you. 

4. Fill out the TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service application form and submit it to:

 How do we decide who is eligible?

 Applicants for all entry routes must meet three of the following financial & social and cultural indicators to be eligible:

 1. Parents have not gone to college (higher education)

 2. Applicant has attended a DEIS school for at least 2 years

 3. Family income is below the following amounts in 2017

Less than 4

 

€45,790

4-7

 

€50,325

More than 8

 

€54,630

Add €4,670 to the total income for every sibling/parent enrolled in a full time college, university or post leaving certificate further education course.

4. Be from a socio economic group underrepresented in higher education

5. Live in an area of urban or rural disadvantage

6. Family received a means tested payment from the Department of Social Protection for at least 26 weeks in 2017
