‌QQI Access TU Dublin - City Campus Applications 2019

QQI functions include those previously carried out by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC); the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC); the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB) and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI).

'QQI Access TU Dublin - City Campus' entry route is aimed at students, from a socio economically disadvantaged background, who have completed a QQI Level 5 and 6 courses and are applying to TU Dublin - City Campus through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).

 The benefits of applying are:

      • Application Support from TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service staff
      • Reserved places for eligible applicants for courses in TU Dublin - City Campus where applications are made through the higher education links scheme (HELS). Please note that you must meet the required number of distinctions and any specified modules required.
      • Supports for Students who have accepted a place via an TU Dublin - City Campus QQI Access Entry Route include:
        •   Access and Civic Engagement Office Orientation programme before you begin your TU Dublin - City Campus Programme
        •   Financial Advice and guidance (There are student financial assistance funds available, in addition to the SUSI grant)
        •   Support from staff in TU Dublin - City Campus Access Service
        •   A dedicated Peer Mentor throughout your first year of college
        •   Additional academic support if required
        •   Volunteering and Leadership opportunities

 To apply 

1.    Have completed or be in the process of completing a full QQI Level 5 or Level 6 award

2.    Be under the age of 23 years on January 1st 2019

3.    Be applying through CAO to the higher education links scheme (HELS) for a place in TU Dublin - City Campus on the basis of your QQI results

4.    Fill out the QQI Access TU Dublin - City Campus application form and submit it to:

      • How do we decide who is eligible?

Applicants must meet three of the following financial & social and cultural indicators to be eligible:

1. Parents have not gone to college (higher education)

2. Attended to a DEIS school for at least 2 years

3. Family income is below the following amounts in 2017 

Less than 4

 

€45,790

4-7

 

€50,325

More than 8

 

€54,630

Add €4,670 to the total income for every sibling/parent enrolled in a full time college, university or post leaving certificate further education course.

4. Be from a socio economic group underrepresented in higher education

5. Live in an area of urban or rural disadvantage

6. Family received a means tested payment from the department of social protection for at least 26 weeks in 2017
