The DIT Access and Civic Engagement Office are now accepting application forms for DIT's Access Entry Routes for entry in Autumn 2016.‌  

DIT''s Access Entry Routes include:

Access DIT:

Access DIT is aimed at school leavers from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds who would like to study a full-time undergraduate course in DIT.  The benefits of applying are:

  • Application Support from DIT Access Service staff.
  • Eligible applicants can compete for reduced points CAO offers for courses in DIT provided the minimum entry requirements have been met.

Supports for students who have accepted a place via Access DIT include:

  • Access Orientation Programme (5 days) in advance of beginning their DIT course.
  • Financial advice and guidance .
  • Support from staff in the DIT Access Service.
  • A dedicated Peer Mentor throughout the first year of college.
  • Additional academic support (if required).
  • Volunteering and leadership opportunities.

QQI Access DIT:

QQI Access DIT is aimed at students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who have completed a QQI (formally FETAC) level 5 or Level 6 course and are applying to DIT through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).  The benefits of applying are:

  • Application Support from DIT Access Service staff.
  • Eligible applicants can compete for reduced points CAO offers for courses in DIT provided the minimum entry requirements have been met.

Supports for students who have accepted a place via QQI Access DIT include:

  • Access Orientation Programme (5 days) in advance of beginning their DIT course.
  • Financial advice and guidance .
  • Support from staff in the DIT Access Service.
  • A dedicated Peer Mentor throughout the first year of college.
  • Additional academic support (if required).
  • Volunteering anf leadership opportunities.

DIT Access Foundation Programme:

The Access Foundation Programme is a one year full-time preparation for higher education programme at DIT.  It is a multi-disciplinary programme that prepares students personally and academically for entry into DIT undergraduate programmes in Science and Health, Engineering and Built Environment, Business and Arts and Tourism.  Students who have successfully completed the programme are guaranteed an offer of one of their DIT CAO undergraduate course choices.
