The workshops are part of the DIT Access and Civic Engagement Office outreach and engagement programme for the Grangegorman Area targeting primary and post-primary school students in the local area.
The workshops were offered to schools in the Dublin 1, 7 and 8 areas and a total of 261 young people visited the campus from ages 11 - 15 across Maths Week, Design Week, Science Week and finally College Awareness Week.
The workshops were delivered by staff in the Access & Civic Engagement Office along with DIT Staff and students from across the Institute. Workshops included Bridge Building, Balloon Cars, Design Concepts, Quantity Surveying, CSI/Forensics, Business and Entrepreneurship and Electronics.
Funding from the DIT Widening Participation Fund supported the development of the workshops.
