Junior Cycle Workshop  24 November 2017

The Junior Workshop Programme offered to schools in the Dublin 1, 7 and 8 areas has been running for the last month.  The secondary students, aged between 11 – 15, visited the Grangegorman campus during Maths Week, Science Week and College Awareness Week.

The student got the opportunity to participate in a range of practical workshops linked to the secondary curriculum and related DIT courses. They were delivered by staff in the Access & Civic Engagement Office along with DIT Staff and students from across the Institute. The workshops on offer to schools this year included: Study Skills, Sports Science, Business, Quantity Surveying, Design Process, Product Design, Forensics and Renewable Energy.

This year during the Forensics workshop we were joined by CSI Gardai from Mountjoy who showed the students how to take and dust for fingerprints. The Sports Science workshop was delivered by the Sport and Recreation Service Team.
