INDUSTRY LINKS
In pursuit of its objective to achieve industry relevance and reflect latest design and construction practices in both lecturing and studio project work, the Department of Architectural Technology maintains close links with a number of architectural practices and a variety of manufacturers and suppliers.
These practices and companies assist the department in a variety of ways including facilitating access to building sites and factories, providing specialist input to studio projects through lectures, seminars and tutorials.
Many practices and companies sponsor trips, prizes, SafePass training and other activities in the department, all to the benefit of our architectural technology students.
Practices and companies are facilitated by the department in delivering lectures and running seminars relating to their practices or products through our weekly Industry Lecture series. These lectures allow various manufacturers, suppliers and designers to present their work and thoughts to the combined three year student population, who eagerly seek information on latest practice and emerging technologies.
LINKS WITH PRACTICES
Practice links with the department are centred on working with architectural practices to arrange access to sites for students of all three years, provide design team staff for specialist project related technology seminars, allow part time input to the programme by their employees, and assist in providing external examiners to the programme on an annual basis.

As part of out policy of keeping apace with industry developments, we invite architectural practices and manufacturers and suppliers to form 'Sponsored Industry Links' with the Department of Architectural Technology. ANNUAL DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY PRIZE DAY
The Department of Architectural Technology annual Prize Day provides an opportunity to formally celebrate achievement of excellence by architectural technology students in all years and to acknowledge industry input to the programme through sponsorship of class trips, equipment purchases and student bursaries and prizes.
