FOURTH YEAR (Stage 4)
Semester 8
In Semester 8, students are required to a carry out their final year thesis based on a collaborative research and design project with fourth year architecture students.
Technical Design Studio 8 provides the context for application and development of the students’ understanding of the principles of architectural technology developed in the various modules during the preceding seven semesters to their thesis project.
A complete and comprehensive technical design proposal is made, including brief analysis, regulation audit, site investigation, technologies research, esquisse, environmental performance analysis and proposals, services analysis and proposals, BIM model and performance analysis, collaborative refinement of architectural design with architectural students, technical drawings, performance and proscriptive specification, component schedules, document issue register, electronic submission, and presentation
