PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The DT175b BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology RPL progression programme has been designed to enable graduates of the DIT Level 7 Diploma in Architectural Technology programme to achieve the Department of Architectural Technology graduate technologist learning outcomes through a modified final year of part time study combined with structured reflection on learning achieved through architectural technology practice.
The programme builds on the outcomes achieved in the Diploma in Architectural Technology, adding modules in professional development, technical design and research to address all identified shortfalls between the Level 7 Dip Arch Tech programme and the 12 graduate technologist outcomes.
The DT175b programme aims to:
- Provide an intellectually stimulating learning and teaching environment which allows student reflection on learning achieved through architectural technology practice and further reinforces the student’s enthusiasm and excitement for architectural technology in their ongoing pursuit of a career as an architectural technologist.
- Provide a learning experience which enables the student to develop and achieve the 12 learning outcomes of a graduate architectural technologist, building on the learning achieved in practice and on RIAI-accredited Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
- Provide a learning experience which enables the student to develop and achieve Level 8 learning outcomes as required by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland in the National Framework of Qualifications, building on the learning achieved in practice and on RIAI-accredited Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
