NZEB Gallery: Residential

The focus of the DT774 Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis & Energy Retrofit programme is multi-unit residential housing. Each year our PG Certificate students produce nZEB retrofit design proposals for a real life multi-unit residential housing project, with projects carefully selected to inform research and establish retrofit design principles.

In the 2012-2013 academic year the project was a deep energy residential retrofit proposal for a typical 1950s Dublin City Council multi-unit block of flats which we called ‘Flattop Block’. Click below to see a range of projects.

In the 2013-2014 academic year the project was a deep energy residential retrofit proposal for a 1920s Scottish social housing type called ‘4-in-a-Block’, which is the subject of a BRE Scotland research project at BRE Innovation Park @ Ravenscraig. Click below to see a range of projects.

In the 2014-2015 academic year the project was a deep energy residential retrofit proposal for a typical 1930s Dublin City Council housing terrace which we called ‘Crumlin Cottage’. Click below to see a range of projects.
