Dublin's bid for World Design Capital
Led by Dublin City Council the four local authorities for the Greater Dublin area orchestrated a broad coalition of designers and design related organisations to prepare a submission for the city's bid to become World Design Capital for 2014. The website PIVOT Dublin tells the story of design and the city. It is is "a declaration of our intent to offer Dublin as a test bed for design solutions to local, national and global challenges. We will look at things afresh, rethink the ground-rules and change them for the better. It’s a chance to reinvent the city, to make the undervalued valued, the ordinary extraordinary."
