What is... Forensic & Environmental Chemistry?

This course is a chemistry programme with modules specialising in forensic and environmental topics. Graduates will have a rigorous scientific training, be good at problem solving and have expert laboratory skills suitable for any career in the Forensic or Environmental sector as well as Pharmaceutical / Chemical industries.

On completion of their degree programme all students will have anhonours degree in Chemistry with a strong emphasis on the applied aspects of the discipline. All our students have extensive experience ofworking in a laboratory environment with hands on proficiency in wet chemical techniques and using analytical equipment including HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher, FTIR and RAMAN. In addition students have a working knowledge of the requirements of the regulated environment of the Pharma, Biopharma and Medtech industry (for example:-GMP, GLP, safety requirements). In general ourstudents are paid while on placement.

Students have worked in QC and QA functions in both the public and private sector but are flexible to work in any science based activity including regulatory affairs.

A minimum of 6 months starting on the 1st of February. Student can work up until the end of August.
