21 November 2017
Key note speakers Declan Allen and Dr Amr Mahfouz presented DIT's capabilities in Supply Chain Simulation and Modelling.
Declan Allen is Assistant Head at the School of Management and Dr Amr Mahfouz is a senior researcher for Supply Chain Management at the 3S Group, a young and growing research unit based at DIT College of Business.
To provide unparalleled assistance and guidance to businesses across the country, FTA Ireland, the most active and vocal membership associate in the Republic’s logistics sector, held a unique one day event at Croke Park on 20th November 2017: “Brexit: The future implications for Ireland/UK Trade”.
“FTAI assembled a stellar line up of speakers for this event,” explains Aidan Flynn, General Manager of FTAI, “each with a unique insight into the challenges posed by Brexit. There is so much which can be done now, yet many areas of the supply chain and business are still operating in isolation. Linking each party in the supply chain and encouraging them to recognise the challenges which each will face is crucial if delays and shortages are not to occur. The transport and logistics sectors are already facing serious skills shortages, growing legislative and regulatory requirements and tight operating margins. Add Brexit to this mix and it is clear that conversations need to start urgently to facilitate a clear path to a successful, competitive and viable future.”
Next up at #FTAIBrexit is an excellent Scenario Mapping presentation from @ditofficial @DeclanJAllen . We now have visibility on real costs and implications for transport if there is a hard border. pic.twitter.com/VzBXn5AHBS— FTA Ireland (@newsfromftai) November 20, 2017
