About our speaker:
Giovanni Schiuma is Professor of Innovation Management at the University of Basilicata in Potenza (Italy). He founded the Innovation Insights Hub at the University of the Arts, London, where he was director until June 2015. Here, he has coordinated world-leading research on how to apply arts and creative processes for the enhancement of organisational innovation capacity. He has served as Vice Mayor of Matera (European Cultural Capital 2019) and Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, Strategic Planning and Innovation.
Professor Schiuma is an inspiring communicator with strong leadership skills. He is creative and innovative, with an internationally-focused mind-set and an openness to address and solve key strategic research, organisational and policy challenges. He has extensive research management expertise, leading research teams, and an excellent ability to coordinate complex projects. He is a highly influential international academic who is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading experts on the topics of the arts in business and strategic knowledge management. His traditional research, training and consulting has focused on linking strategic knowledge management and performance measurement to strategic performance management and organisation value creation.
His research and consultant interests focus on strategic innovation development. He is committed to the development of innovation policies, as well as practical, creative-based projects designed to drive sustainable value creation, capacity development and growth.
Professor Schiuma is strongly involved in Executive Education; he delivers seminars to public and private organisations nationally and internationally, including seminars in Europe and Middle East. He has authored or co-authored more than 180 publications, including books, articles, research reports and white papers on a range of business management topics.
