Student's launch first ever DIT Student Managed Fund

Three DIT College of Business MSc. Finance students have launched DIT SMF- a student managed fund, led by Conor Flanagan, Sudhanshu Suryavanshi,and James Igoe.
The Student Managed Fund initiative provides DIT students with real-world investment management experience. The fund allows students to develop skills in the fields of business analysis, investing, risk management, valuations and equity analysis within a secure corporate governance structure.
Mentored by Seán O'Reilly, lecturer in the School of Accounting and Finance and Chairperson of the Advisory Board, Seán states ''DIT SMF has gathered huge traction across DIT over the past few weeks with over 60 students from across different specialities registered to participate. We expect over 100 students will be involved in the management of these funds each year where they will make the ultimate investment decisions under the guidance of an advisory board within a socially responsible framework.''
DIT SMF have secured two major sponsors- Geneva Trading and Gillen Markets.
To kick start the student managed fund the executive committee which is student led have announced an exciting competition in collaboration with Geneva Trading and EMS Copiers with six weeks of trading commencing on February 19th until 6th April.
