The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) hosted their sold-out event ''Diversity and Inclusion - Pushing the Boundaries' at TU Dublin-City Campus, College of Business on Wednesday 30th January. CIPD organised industry leaders- Avril Hutch, Head of EDI, Royal College of Surgeons and Vivienne Kavanagh, Employee Development and Equality Executive, Dublin Bus as guest speakers on the evening.
Avril shared RSCI’s journey in diversity and inclusion which has earned the organisation an Athena Swan accreditation which recognises and celebrates good practices in gender equality and Vivienne shared the diversity and inclusion journey at Dublin Bus and showcased their interesting new initiatives and how their Diversity and inclusion strategy is helping Dublin Bus improve the quality of employee and customer experience and a good connection with the community.
Dr. Mary Prendergast, Programme Chair and Assistant Head, School of Management, commented ‘We were honoured to hold this event as partners of CIPD with our leading accredited HR degree and masters programmes, our students and alumni gained great insights on diversity and inclusion as an important strategy to provide opportunity for organisations and individuals to gain strength from a diverse workforce.''
