Graduates of our programmes benefit from a range of expemptions provided by professional bodies.

Chartered Accountants Ireland

CA Proficiency (CAP) 1

Graduates of the BSc Accounting and Finance (DT366), and the BSc Business and Management (DT365) get full exemption from CA Proficiency 1 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland subject to performance in specific modules in their programmes. 

Graduates of the PgDip Accounting (DT310) also get a full exemption from CA Proficiency 1 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland subject to performance in specific modules in their programme.

CA Proficiency (CAP) 2

Graduates of the MSc Accounting (DT329) get a full exemption from CA Proficiency 2 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 


Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Undergraduate Programmes

Graduates of the BSc Accounting and Finance (DT366) get exemptions from modules F1 to F9 inclusive of the ACCA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Graduates of the BSc Business & Management (DT365) get exemptions from modules F1 to F7 inclusive plus F9 of the ACCA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme.

Postgraduate Programmes

Graduates of the PgDip Accounting (DT310) get exemptions from modules F1 to F9 inclusive of the ACCA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme.

Graduates of the MSc Accounting (DT329) get exemptions from modules F1 to F9 inclusive of the ACCA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Graduates of the MBS International Accounting (DT933) get exemptions from modules F1 to F9 inclusive of the ACCA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme.

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

Undergraduate Programmes

Graduates of the BSc Accounting and Finance (DT366) get exemptions from modules C01 to C05 inclusive and P1 and F1 of the CIMA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Graduates of the BSc Business & Management (DT365) get exemptions from modules C01 to C05 inclusive and P1, E1 and F1 of the CIMA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Postgraduate Programmes

Graduates of the PgDip Accounting (DT310) get exemptions from modules C01 to C05 inclusive and P1, F1 and F2 of the CIMA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Once you hold a Masters in Accounting (DT329) or MBS in International Accounting you are eligible to take the CIMA gateway route.  This means you take the CIMA Gateway exam (Management Level Case Study) and once you pass this you get 12 exemptions.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Undergraduate Programmes

Graduates of the BSc Accounting and Finance (DT366) get exemptions from modules all F1, F2 (Financial Accounting, Management accounting, Taxation), P1 Corporate Reporting, Managerial Finance, Auditing and Corporate Laws and Governance of the CPA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Graduates of the BSc Business & Management (DT365) get exemptions from modules all F1, F2 (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation) of the CPA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Postgraduate Programmes

Graduates of the PgDip Accounting (DT310) get exemptions from modules all F1, F2 (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation), P1 (Managerial Finance and Auditing) of the CPA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme. 

Graduates of the Masters in Accounting (DT329) get exemptions from modules all F1, F2 (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Information systems and Taxation), P1 (Corporate Reporting, Managerial Finance and Auditing) of the CPA syllabus subject to performance in specific modules in their programme.

Irish Taxation Institute

Undergraduate Programmes

Graduates of the BSc Accounting and Finance (DT366) get a Group 2 exemption for granted for Part 1 of the Irish Taxation Institute Exams.

Postgraduate Programmes

Graduates of the PgDip Accounting (DT310) get a Group 2 exemption for for Part 1 of the Irish Taxation Institute Exams.

Graduates of the Masters in Accounting (DT329) get a Group 1 exemption for Part 1 of the Irish Taxation Institute Exams.
