CHAIRPERSON’S MEDAL
for Civic Engagement
The Governing Body of the Dublin Institute of Technology has established an award to recognise students who have contributed greatly to student life in the Institute and their local communities. By recognising those students who have made a difference in DIT, and have left a positive legacy, we hope to inspire other students to make a similar contribution.
We are now seeking nominations for these awards. Nominations may be made by staff, students, or committees of DIT. The application forms may be downloaded here: Application Form
Closing date for completed nomination forms is 5pm on Monday, April 19th, 2010. The forms should be sent into the SSRS Office - contact details are on the application form.
Successful applicants will be in their final year, and will have made an exceptional contribution to student life or to their local community. Any endeavour or achievement, which reflects well on the Institute, may be taken into account.
Examples of this would be:
- Outstanding contribution to Clubs and Societies, Students’ Union or the Institute
- Sporting achievement on a national / international level
- Extensive Pastoral / Charity work
- Excellence in a cultural / artistic field
The judging panel will only take into account activities which were carried out on a voluntary basis. Successful applicants will have to meet a clearly laid out standard which will be developed by the Judging Panel.
