General Information
Welcome
Welcome to this brief guide on accommodation options available to you if you are considering coming to college with us here at the Dublin Institute of Technology. You are joining DIT at a very exciting time. Over the next few years all the DIT campuses, from all over Dublin city, will be merging onto one location. Grangegorman is situated just on the outskirts of the city centre, and will offer students the unique experience of studying at a newly developed third level institute.
The new campus will provide student residencies on site. The student residences will offer a range of housing formats from 6 bed and 3 bed apartments to private studio/family units. Ground level spaces ofr dining, social and study lounges and related shops serve to activate the Serpentinte Walk on the south side and St Brendan's on the north side. (GDA SP P4:6).
Accommodation options available to you
For many people, coming to college means living away from home for the first time. We understand that you would like to live in a place that is clean, modern, comfortable, safe, not too expensive, within easy reach of all your activities and preferably with other students who share the same lifestyle as your own. Depending on your circumstances and/or preferences you may chose campus style or private rented accommodation.
Please be advised that DIT do not inspect or recommend accommodation and are not responsible for the accuracy of any information provided by the supplier
Here we provide information on these options with links to further information.
Campus Style Accommodation
This accommodation is purpose built to suit student’s needs. Each complex has their own layout but generally, students have single or twin rooms’ and share a kitchen and living area. The residences are safe and normally provide 24 hour security. This allows students to live independently in a well-managed and safe environment designed with their needs in mind.
Block Booked Campus Style Accommodation
Until our new student residences at Grangegorman are complete DIT have block booked bed spaces with a number of external providers of campus style accommodation. These providers give preferences to DIT students while accommodation is available. Providers try to place students of similar courses and DIT campuses together. DIT has a residential assistant in some of the larger complexes.
Alternative Campus Style Accommodation
There are several other campus style residences suitable for DIT students which have not been block booked by DIT. Further information is available on the link below.
