Cultural and Social Societies

Non-sporting activities are also fully catered for in the DIT. Each centre has a Cultural and Social Council that organises a variety of clubs and societies. Many of these groups are related to specific courses and provide an extra dimension to the academic content of these courses.

In addition, the DIT Cultural and Social Committee, which comprises representatives of all the centres, organises clubs and societies activities which are open to all DIT students.

There are over 90 Cultural and Social Societies throughout DIT, so there is something for everyone, including everything from course related societies to film, music, drama and paintball among many others. If there isn't one to suit you, it is easy to set one up.

All societies are run by students and supported by the Institute and the Students' Union through advice, administration and finance.

For further information on setting up procedures, finance and other activities, check the Societies Office website or contact Anita Conway, the full-time Societies Organiser who is based in DIT Aungier St.

Anita can be contacted @ Tel. 4027123 or email
