Compulsory Travel Scheme - Commencing September 2017.

This scheme provides assistance to full-time DIT students who must travel as part of their academic programme. The trip must be compulsory and the amount awarded is based on the level of parental/student income and is subject to funding availability. 


How to apply

Download and complete the Compulsory Travel Scheme 16/17 Application Form‌ and submit with all relevant and supporting documentation. Please post completed form to Financial Aid & Accommodation Services, DIT, 143-149 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6.

Q.        Does the compulsory travel assistant scheme include the year abroad that some courses require or does it only cover short             trips abroad and within Ireland?

A.        The scheme covers all the above

Q.        Does this scheme cover travelling to and from college if I am not living in Dublin?

A.        No

Q.        Is the full cost of the trip covered or is it just a percentage of the total that is covered?

A.        Compulsory Trip in Ireland is é200, short trip in Europe é500 and trip of long duration eg 1 year is up to é3K. 

Q.        I am repeating the year; am I still eligible for assistant towards a compulsory trip?

A.        Yes
