Emergency Assistance Fund

Emergency funding can be provided where students require immediate financial assistance in some of the following circumstances:

  • Students who are on placement abroad and require emergency financial assistance
  • Students who need to vacate their accommodation urgently
  • Students who suffer a bereavement and require immediate assistance to attend the funeral or related expenses
  • Travel of an urgent or essential nature
  • Student who have an accident
  • Emergency and extenuating circumstances

A.         It varies, depending on circumstances.


Q.        I am a part-time student, am I eligible for emergency assistance?
A.        Please call the office at 01 2205066 for information.  Criteria applies to the scheme.


Q.        I have already been awarded assistance under the Student Assistance Fund. Can I still apply for Emergency Assistance?
A.        Yes, however the assistance you received under the Student Assistance Fund will be taken into consideration.
