- Avoiding close contact with people who appear unwell and have fever and cough
- Always carrying tissues
- Always covering your nose and mouth with clean tissues, when coughing or sneezing
- Always disposing of used tissues into a bin immediately
- Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water or alcohol based hand cleaners regularly
- Cleaning surfaces regularly to get rid of germs

Preventing the spread of Swineflu
Stay Healthy: stop the spread of infection by:
DO NOT ATTEND COLLEGE
If you Suspect you have the following symptoms of swineflu:
- Fever of > 38
And a number of the following Symptoms:
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Severe weakness
- Aching muscles & joints
- Dry Cough
- Runny nose
- Fatigue
- Vomiting & diarrhoea
Contact your GP or phone the Student Health Centre !
- stay at home for up to 7 days until you fully recover
- contact your next of kin
- do not go to work or school while ill
- take medicines such as Paracetomol or ibuprofen to reduce the symptoms
- drink plenty of fluids
- discourage any vistors
If no improvement or symptoms worsen contact your GP or phone the Student Health Centre
