11 October 2010: Thanks to all participants for attending Chem Ed 2010. We hope you found the day beneficial. Resources from the day will be uploaded here in the coming week. An email will be circulated to all participants notifying them when resources are available to download.
Information about the day
ChemEd 2010 will be held in DIT Kevin St on Saturday 9th October, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. It is hosted by the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The theme of this year's conference is: Motivating and Engaging Chemistry Students
Keynote Speakers:
- Dr Jane Essex, University of Keele, "Teaching Students of Differing Ability"
- Dr Tim Desmond, Chief Examiner Chemistry, State Examinations Commission, "Observations of the Chief Examiner"
Topics include:
- Teaching groups of differing ability
- Assessment of Leaving Cert chemistry
- Supporting entrants for the Young Scientist Exhibition and/or SciFest
- Context-based learning materials (Forensic and Environmental Chemistry, Nanotechnology)
- Using Web 2.0 for teaching (wikis, blogs, bookmarks, etc.)
