‌CIVIL ENGINEERING student wins Engineering Academic Excellence Award

Mr Stephen Enright, recent graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering course (DT004) was presented with the Student Academic Excellence Award for the College of Engineering and Built Environment at a recent ceremony at St Patrick‘s Cathedral.

The award recognises excellence in academic achievement and was awarded to Stephen based on his outstanding results in final year examinations and his thesis project entitled “Design of Footbridges, With Case Study of Lady Desart Bridge, Kilkenny”.  Stephen received a standing ovation from his classmates upon his award presentation.

Speaking of the award and his experience, Stephen noted “My time in DIT has been a very interesting and enjoyable one, thanks to the supportive network of staff. Achieving this award was a huge honour and a great way to cap off the whole experience.”

Civil and Structural Engineering at DIT

We offer a range of Undergraduate and Postgradute courses, from Level 7 up to Level 9, in civil and structural engineering. Our courses are fully accredited with Engineers Ireland and with the Institute of Structural Engineers.

Our courses have a strong technical and practical focus, however, we also place great emphasis on developing our students fully with team working skills and professional development being important core components of our courses. Our graduates are highly sought after both in Ireland and abroad.
