DT228: Computer Science
The ICT sector remains very strong in Ireland, providing our graduates with lots of options, as demonstrated by the testimonials provided below from three of our graduates.
This graduate completed the programme in 2005 and has since started his own very successful business:
"When looking for a course I looked at a lot of courses and found DIT to be the most hands on and best to get me ready for the real world. When in the course the work was good and the class was nice and close together. I got a great internship during third year in Google and was able to learn lots about large systems again making me more ready for after college. Now for the past two years I have been running an outsourced IT company for SME business."
This graduate joined the programme as an international student and has since progressed to postgraudate study:
"I value being one of the graduates from this course, as it did not just help me develop concrete skills that reflected the state-of-the-art technologies, but also offered me an opportunity to obtain industrial experience as part of the curriculum which set myself at a prominent position in making career decisions. I was selected as a candidate to pursue a doctoral degree in the same discipline after graduation, and have continued to receive huge benefits from my undergraduate background during this journey."
This graduate is now working as a software developer and writes below about his first year experience:
