Careers in Food Science & Environmental Health

Irish Food Companies are investing, expanding and recruiting Food Innovation graduates to positions in laboratory and production Quality Control, and Quality Systems Management in addition to technical sales positions. Product Development activity is expanding rapidly across the sector as newly developed products contribute to the increase in both the volume and value of food exports to ever more diverse markets with increasingly precise labelling requirements. Food Science Technology and Innovation Graduates with any European language are particularly in demand.

Nutraceutical graduates are being actively recruited by large established multinationals to add value to their research and new healthier product development in addition to rapid growth in a range of younger companies focused on the Health Food and specialist nutrition markets.

Environmental Health Graduates are quickly becoming recognised for their ability to develop, operate and manage accreditation of the expanding range of internationally accredited systems required by Irish Companies. These include management Systems: ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and British Retail Consortium Global Food Standard in addition to Retail Multiple’s specific additional requirements.
