'Data Science' book released by DIT Computer Scientists John Kelleher and Brendan Tierney

A new book on Data Science co-authored by two DIT researchers Professor John D. Kelleher and Brendan Tierney has recently been published by MIT Press. The book is a concise introduction to the emerging field of data science, explaining its evolution, relation to machine learning, current uses, data infrastructure issues, and ethical challenges.

John D. Kelleher is a Professor of Computer Science and the Academic Leader of the Information, Communication, and Entertainment Research Institute at the Dublin Institute of Technology. He has already released a Machine Learning book entitled Fundamentals of Machine Learning for Predictive Data Analyticswith MIT Press in 2015 with his the co-authors Brian Mac Namee and Aoife D’arcy.

Brendan Tierney is a lecturer of Computer Science at the Dublin Institute of Technology teaching advanced databases and data mining, as well as being an Oracle Ace Director. Brendan recently released three books including 'Oracle R Enterprise' released in 2016, 'Predictive Analytics Using Oracle Data Miner' in 2014 as well as being co-author along with 5 other Oracle Ace Director of the recently released 'Real World SQL and PL/SQL: Advice from the Experts'.
