Postgraduate degrees  

The School of Computing, Dublin Institute of Technology has been delivering focused, practical, industry relevant, taught postgraduate programmes  for over 10 years. Under the banner of our MSc in Computing the school offers a number of specialist programmes  designed to meet areas of recognised skills shortage both in Ireland and globally. All specialisms are designed to produce graduates with deep specialist skills in a particular computing discipline, relying on connecting the best theory with the best practical implementation of this theory through the use of real-world examples.

The structure/delivery of the MSc in Computing along with descriptions of each of the modules is available.

The Masters Qualifier offers graduates in non computing disciplines the opportunity to acquire the core knowledge of computing concepts necessary to be eligible for entry to the MSc in Computing programme.   It is a one semester fulltime or two-semester part-time programme which prepares students for progression to the MSc in Computing.   

The International PreMasters programme offers international Honours Bachelors graduates an entry path to the MSc in Computing programme.  It is a year long, full time programme that prepares students for the demands of a taught masters programme at DIT.  Key objectives are to develop the students' English language skills and to provide the opportunity, through the medium of English, to enhance their existing knowledge base.   There are two streams: the International PreMasters for computer science graduates  and the International Conversion PreMasters for those from non-computing disciplines.  

The Higher Diploma in Computing provide an entry path for Honours Bachelors graduates in other numerate disciplines into graduate entry level careers in computing.  It is a one year fulltime programme or two year part-time programme with a six month industry work placement opportunity.
