Launch of Anne Leahy Libary Collection

On Friday last a group of colleagues and friends gathered to mark the launch of the specialist book collection of the late Anne Leahy which is now housed in a reserved section of the DIT Conservatory music library in Rathmines.

Hosted by Brid Grant, Director of the College of Arts and Tourism, there were speeches from Ann Wrigley head librarian, Professor Harry White from UCD (also representing the SMI) and Dr Robin Leaver renowned Bach scholar.

Tribute was paid to Anne's great interest in books and her care for them, her achievements in Bach scholarship, her indomitable spirit and above all her sense of fun! All agree she would have been pleased to see her collection of specialist books and scores housed with such care and in a location which will make them accessible to all. Ann Wrigley announced the intention of building on the collection and as if on cue Robin Leaver presented to the collection the annotated bibliograpy 'Music reference and research materials' by Vincent Duckles.

Absent unfortunately due to an accident was Dr Kerry Houston.  Thanks to his planning and initiative, the event was marked appropriately.
