Junior Conservatory

In the Junior Conservatory we offer students individual instrumental/vocal lessons and a variety of group classes for younger students.

Individual Tuition
When individual lesssons are taken, students are also required to participate in ensemble work as appropriate and attend a musicianship class.
As part of students musical and technical training in their chosen instrument, students are prepared for Conservatory examinations (initial to advanced grade). Examinations are seen as an important element in the initial training and development. In addition to providing motivation for students and important feedback for teachers, the examination system plays a vital role in maintaining high standards.

A range of competitions held in December and March of each year concentrate on various aspects of the repertoire.
The competitions are held in public and provide an important platform for aspiring performers.

Students are also encouraged to perform in music festivals and competitions in Ireland and abroad

Over the years Conservatory students have performed with much success at various events, the Siemens Feis Ceoil, Feis Maitiu, (Cork), Arklow Music Festival, Sligo Feis Ceoil, Southport Music Festival and RTE’s Musician of the Future

There are a number of scholarships available in all instruments / voice by internal competition at the grade examinations and also on the basis of audition results.
