Alison Thomas

A member of the teaching staff of the keyboard department, she also collaborates with many of the Conservatory’s finest vocalists and instrumentalists.
Alison was awarded a Master of Music from the University of Maryland with a degree specialisation in keyboard collaboration. She graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with an honours BA Moderatorship (Music). She was also holds a Licentiate and Fellowship of Trinity College, London for piano performance.
Alison has held the role of pianist with RTÉ Cor na nÓg since 1999. Since then she has accompanied the choir at concerts throughout Ireland and the UK and has recorded with them for broadcast on radio and television as well as CD recordings on numerous occasions.
In addition to her work with RTÉ Cor na nÓg, Alison is a frequent deputy keyboard player with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. A much sought after accompanist, her work with choral ensembles includes performances with the National Chamber Choir and Dublin Bach Singers. She performs with several school choirs and enjoys a special relationship with Ceiliúr, the choir of Loreto College, St. Stephen’s Green. Most recently, Alison has been engaged by the Association of Irish Choirs to accompany the Music Generation Choral Music Experience course with choral expert Dr. Doreen Rao.
