DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama celebrates Ireland's first National Music Day on Friday 16th April

DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama is delighted to celebrate Ireland's first National Music Day with the following events:


European Association of Conservatoires ?Polifonia? Working Group for Instrumental and Vocal Music Teacher Training (INVITE) 2nd International Conference
?The Education of Instrumental and Vocal Teachers ? Developing Professional Competences?
At the conference in DIT Aungier Street there will be live music provided by the DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble, DIT Chatham Saxophone Ensemble, DIT Harp Trio and DIT String Quartet.

There will be an open rehearsal with New Music Ensemble, Concorde, at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Rathmines Road Campus from 4pm - 5.30pm with Tine Verbeke (soprano) and David James (cello).  This is open to all observers as part of National Music Day. The musicians will be rehearsing music by Alyson Barber (DIT Graduate) and Elaine Agnew.  Concorde is an Ensemble in Residence at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Ireland?s first National Music Day, takes place on Friday April 16th and is coordinated by Music Network in association with RTÉ lyric FM and supported by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism.  For more information visit
