Music has always been a vital element of the cultural fabric of Ireland. Its promotion, support, and especially, access to music education for all, needs to be driven by an inclusive National Music Policy. Conservatoires Ireland wishes to facilitate a national conversation that can lead to the development of a blueprint for such a National Music Policy. On Sunday 1 March 2015 from 2 – 4pm, simultaneous “Open Forums” will take place in Cork, Dublin and Sligo. Ideas generated at these meetings will inform presentations to Government. If you are a professional or amateur performer in any genre or tradition; a member of an orchestra, choir, band or community group; an educator in any music related area, or work in music promotion/administration, you are warmly invited to come along and to have your voice heard.
