DIT Classical Guitar Symposium
“A Reflection of Collaboration and New Research in Ireland’s Classical Guitar Community”

Friday 27 January 2017, 10am-9pm

Hosted by DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in association with the Research Foundation for Music in Ireland

This symposium presents an opportunity to further harness and develop a community around guitar research in Ireland. A full programme of lectures, lecture recitals and performances will help explore recent collaborative projects and new research happening within the classical guitar community. 

With guests including key note speaker Professor Christopher Page, acclaimed performer Craig Ogden, and featuring the Irish launch of Ben Dwyer’s new book Britten and the Guitar: Critical Perspectives for Performers, this promises to be an engaging and eventful occasion. John Buckley, Ian Wilson, GuitaRiam guitar orchestra, Morgan Buckley, Eamon Sweeney, Redmond O'Toole, Michael O'Toole and Eoin Flood will present lectures during the day.
