Students of Interior Design at DIT School of Creative Arts are preparing for the 2017 Graduate Exhibition. Making a Show opens in DIT Grangegorman on Thursday 01 June and runs until Saturday 10 June. Interior designer and DIT Lecturer Neville Knott is working with the graduating students on the final presentation of their work and encourages everyone coming to the exhibition to view the very detailed projects on display. Here is a preview of just some of the work that will be on show:
Megan Lee Modular bedroom. The compact modular bedroom redefines the use of space in this concept for a deluxe BnB. The colour palette uses soft green and mustard offset against white with dramatic pops of cherry red to keep it young and fresh.
Julia Bialas: The destination restaurant highlights the use of darker materials combined with graphics patterns and illuminated images both on the walls and ceilings. The use of coloured LED lighting acts as an outline to define the architecture of the space.
Julia Bialas: The modular retail space articulates the concept based on stacked shipping containers that subtly defines the low relief ceiling, layout and shop fitting. Colour and lighting act as a counterbalance against the dominance of the black shop-fitting.
