Exhibition 2014

Welcome to The Next, the 2014 Graduate Show of the School of Art, Design and Printing, Dublin Institute of Technology which will open in DIT Portland Row on Friday June 6th and run through to June 16th. The Next is the highlight of the academic year and includes work by graduates of Fine Art, Product, Interior, Furniture, Digital, Retail and Visual Communication design.

As usual the graduate show offers a wide and varied selection of challenging, clever, useful and provocative work from all areas of the creative arts. The Next features a new lighting design based on the eye of a crab, a design for a museum to J-pop, a portable Japanese tea house for the suburban garden, a Smart Food app for combating obesity, a new single use paramedical neck brace, an anti theft device for life buoys and a major installation investigating issues of voyeurism, morality and legality in the contemporary phenomenon of video surveillance.

The coming academic year 2014 /2015 will be the most important in the history of our school as we become the very first school in DIT to move to our new campus in Grangegorman. We will be joined by our Photography programme from Temple Bar and for the first time we will have all our studios, workshops, digital facilities and dark rooms on the one campus.

I look forward to welcoming all our students, graduates, industry partners,  sponsors and the public to our new campus this coming September.
