The Graduate Exhibition of the Dublin School of Creative Arts, the School of Manufacturing and Design Engineering and the School of Media is the highlight of the academic year for our students and staff. This publication, new website and the accompanying exhibition represents the culmination of many years of full-time study and gives our students the opportunity to showcase the results of their imagination, hard work, and creative skills in a public arena. This year the graduate exhibition has gone fully online at ditgradex.com and features work from all our programmes and highlights the exciting and innovative range of work produced by our graduates across Fine Art, Photography, Furniture, Product, Interior, Visual Merchandising and Visual Communication Design.
Every year the Graduate Exhibition identity is designed by a group of students from the Visual Communication course. The group is selected based on a pitch that they present to the Graduate Exhibition Committee. The show must encompass a creative solution for the effective promotion, brand development and utilisation of the existing space within the Grangegorman campus. This year the selected team consisted of Christine Akinrinde, Declan Behan, Ailbhe Diskin, Eoghan Shanley and Phillip Towell.
The Identity developed for the graduate exhibition uses overlapping rectangular shapes of colour and material. This is used in all touch points of the branding. The overlapping shapes represent the variety of exhibiting courses in DIT and how they come together to create the Graduate Exhibition.
This year the show has gone online. The website is a major part of this year’s Graduate Exhibition. It has been revolutionised, into a new home for the catalogue of students work where it will be archived for years to come. The website was conceptualised and designed by the Graduate Exhibition team and a web developer was hired to build it. You can take a look here at ditgradex.com.
A new printed publication was also produced this year to accompany the Graduate Exhibition. This publication captures moments that have affected the graduating students throughout their time in DIT in a series of articles written by the staff and students.
The team worked on expanding the identity over all touch points in the exhibition through wayfinding, invitations and a map and more
It all comes together on the 31st of May, join us for the opening night, pizza, drinks and a celebration of four years of hard work.
