DIT, Department of Social Sciences and School of Media
The CSER is closely associated with the School of Social Sciences and Law and the School of Media in DIT who both share a commitment to enhancing the quality of early childhood care and education through their teachings and contributions to the research base in this key area. Staff have included empirical researchers, theorists and active agents within the policy matrix, as well as lecturers and research supervisors.
CECDE - Centre for Early Childhood Development and Education
At the request of the Irish Minister for Education and Science, DIT and St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra jointly established the Centre for Early Childhood Development and Education (CECDE). The CSER is responsible for the design and implementation of the CECDE research programme. This research programme is designed to provide policy-relevant evidence for planning and developing the childcare and education provision in Ireland.
In addition to CSER’s management role in the CECDE, it is also a member of the Steering Group and Research Committee.
