Keiko Yokoyama, Ph.D, was previously Associate Professor of Higher Education at the Research Institute for Higher Education, Hiroshima University, Japan. She was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Boston College and other distinctive institutions. She received Ph.D in comparative higher education policies from the Institute of Education, University of London
Her major research interests are in sociology of higher education, higher education policy analysis and organisational studies. She has conducted a range of research projects funded by international and national bodies such as the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, etc. She has published a number of books and journal articles in the field of higher education. Her latest books include Government, Policy and Ideology: Higher Education’s Changing Boundaries in Two Island Kingdoms - Japan and England (University Press of America, 2010).
