Media Literacies

Introduction

Researchers at the CSER have particular interests and expertise in the study of children and media.  The topic of media literacies – the skills and competences required for today’s fast moving media environment – has been the subject of several research studies for agencies such as the Office of the Minister of Children and Youth Affairs, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and UNICEF. The CSER is the national contact point for the EU Kids Online project, a 25 country network funded under the EC Safer Internet Programme.

Media Literacies provides opportunities for postgraduate studies by research leading to an MPhil or PhD, and welcomes international scholars.
