Carmel Gallagher, B.S., M. Soc, PhD
Research interest in older people in Irish society and was awarded a PhD by NUI Galway in 2006 for a study titled ‘The Participation of Older People in their Communities’. She was awarded a Senior Research Scholarship by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and the Social Sciences for this work in 2002. Her current research focus is examining key elements of social care practice in successful care settings for older people in Ireland
