International Self-Report Delinquency Study

The International Self-Report Delinquency study was launched in 1992 by the Ministry of Justice in the Netherlands. Its aims were to measure the prevalence of different types of youthful misbehaviour in industrialised countries; examine sources of cross-national variation; provide an alternative to police statistics and victim surveys and contribute to the development of the self-report methodology. The research for the ISRD-2 was undertaken by the Department of Social Sciences and Centre for Social and Educational Research at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), the Institute of Criminology at University College Dublin, and the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Queen’s University, Belfast.
