The DITs School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology are proud to be working in collaboration with Stafford Lynch Food Services Division to bring a number of 2012 Competition Events to our students here in Cathal Brugha Street.
Barilla Pasta Chef Competition
March 2012 brings a selected Barilla Master Chef from the Barilla Academy in Parma, Italy to judge 6 finalists who will produce one Barilla Pasta starter dish and one Barilla Pasta main dish utilising a number of selected Barilla Pasta products. Download your competition entry form from the Barilla Pasta Chef link on the left and return your entry form via email attachment to Chef Jim Rock no later than Friday 20th January 2012.
San Pellegrino Sommelier Scholarship
To enter and win this competition, six selected finalists will have studied the San Pellegrino Codex and have completed a semi-final examination process before moving on to the 'Live Final' to be held in early 2012. Check out the competition link on the left!
Knorr Student Chef of the Year Competition (open to 2nd year students only)
To enter this competition, 2nd year students must first submit their starter and main course details to Chef Jim Rock. One selected finalist will then be chosen by the DITs School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology specialist panel to go forward to the competition final to be held in the Cork Institute of Technology on Wednesday 22nd February 2012. Tabasco 'Hottest Chef' Competition
The Tabasco 'Hottest Chef’' Competition in association with Stafford Lynch Food Services Division will be officially launched in October of 2012 and will concentrate on using the Tabasco brand. The top prize for this competition is an all-expense paid trip to Louisiana, USA. Further details on this very exciting competition will be announced later in the New Year, so keep watching!
