IT GOVERNANCE

 

Within DIT, Campus Development is a sub-committee of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with responsibility for ensuring that the full benefits of relocation to the Grangegorman campus are optimised for all staff & students, and to plan for, and maintain, the DIT infrastructure to meet the educational needs and standards of the Institute in line with the approved Strategic Plan and approved School/Functional area plans.

Under the direction of its Chair, Mr. Paul Flynn, Director of Campus Services & Relocation, Campus Development approves an annual programme of work for ICT Services to undertake in support of the Institute’s mission. This work programme can require significant capital funding in addition to recurrent pay and non-pay budgets to deliver its objectives.

Campus Development meets on a monthly basis to review progress towards the achievement of agreed objectives, and to give formal assurance to SLT regarding the efficient and effective use of resources in supporting the development and operation of the campus, and that value for money is being achieved.

 

The primary goals for information technology governance are to:

  • Assure that the investments in IT generate business value, and to
  • Mitigate the risks that are associated with IT.
