All DIT staff in Management or Supervisory roles

Course Objectives:

This workshop has been developed around the new Discipline & Grievance Procedures which were approved by Governing Body on 21st January 2009.  The key learning objectives are as follows:

  • To understand the principles of Natural Justice
  • To appreciate the importance of natural justice in the application of Disciplinary procedures
  • To understand where the IOT disciplinary procedures fit within the legal framework and Code of Practice
  • To appreciate how good and thorough Performance Management can help make entry to the Disciplinary Process the exception rather than the rule
  • To be able to understand and apply the steps of the DITT/IOT Disciplinary Procedure
  • To understand how to undertake a disciplinary investigation
  • To understand how to prepare for and conduct a Disciplinary Meeting, including minute/note taking, and objective setting
  • To be able to understand and apply the steps of the IOT/DIT Grievance Procedures
  • To be able to prepare for and participate in a Grievance Meeting
