 Winners of DIT Foundation Competition Announced!

 DIT Foundation is delighted to announce the winners of our competition to mark the launch of our new website. We received hundreds of  excellent fundraising suggestions from DIT staff, students and graduates which ranged from the zany –duck races on the Liffey, sponsored pelting of bankers – to rather scary – a DIT staff X-Factor competition! After reviewing the entries we managed to whittle the suggestions down to five daily winners and our overall winner.

The daily winners of a €25 iTunes voucher are;

Monday: Cristine Carty (DIT Graduate) for her suggestion titled ‘Taking the Biscuit’ in honour of the famous former Jacobs factory at the DIT Aungier Street site. Cristine suggested a ‘Crystal Maze’ style team treasure hunt across DIT campuses.

Tuesday: Ben Jones (DIT Graduate) for his suggestion of a ‘Monster Graduate Re-Union Breakfast’ in each DIT campus. As Ben suggested this could be a fun way for graduates to get together as well as contributing to DIT Foundation.

 Wednesday: Brian Gormley (DIT Staff) Brian suggested holding a DIT ‘telethon’ where a panel of student volunteers from Clubs, Societies, and DIT Students Union would phone alumni and tell them about developments in DIT and ask for their support.

 Thursday: James Bassett ( DIT Staff)  James suggestion was to auction a lunch or dinner date with a prestigious DIT graduate. Given the success of many prominent DIT graduates this could prove a very attractive proposition!

Friday: Our final daily winner is Patrick Kerley (DIT Student) whose suggestion of a ‘Band-a-Thon’, would certainly prove an entertaining, and possibly noisy, fund-raiser given the level of musical talent in DIT!

Overall Winner

From the five daily winners we selected graduate Cristine Carty and her ‘Taking the Biscuit’ team challenge as the overall winner of a 32GB iPod Touch with a €50 iTunes Voucher.

 The DIT Foundation team would like to congratulate the winners and, above all, to thank all of you that entered. We were delighted with the level of response from across the DIT Community. It certainly seems that you had great fun coming up with the fundraising suggestions and we enjoyed reviewing them. Over the next few months we are hoping to put some of your suggestions into action. In the meantime if you have interesting fundraising ideas you’d like to share with us please feel free to submit them at www.ditfoundation.ie

Thanks again for your support!
