DIT Foundation Takes to the Streets for Women’s Mini-Marathon 2010!
A team of DIT staff, students and graduates braved the Bank Holiday deluge to take part in the Flora Women’s Mini-Marathon 2010. The team were raising funds to help DIT Foundation tackle educational disadvantage in Dublin through DIT community links programmes. Despite the inclement conditions, spirits were high and the first DIT participant home was Ruth Kearney (DIT Hothouse) .
A number of colleagues across DIT provided their assistance in the run-up to the event. A special word of thanks must go to Herbie McClelland, DIT Sports Office, who provided supervised training sessions and provided valuable advice and encouragement. Peter Heaslip and Paul McDunphy of DIT Buildings Maintenance facilitated the opening of the changing rooms in DIT Kevin which was of great help on the day.
