Festool Supports Timber Skills

Festool is supporting the Timber Skills area of DIT's Dublin School of Architecture with a generous donation of its power tools to the timber workshops in the college valued at over €30,000. In addition, Festool’s Irish technical support team will provide specialised training to lecturers and students in the new Festool Room located in the Linenhall building at DIT Bolton Street. This facility will also be used to provide external training to the timber industry.
Details of Festool’s support of DIT were announced at a prize giving ceremony in Bolton Street last February at which graduate Patrick Young was awarded Best Overall Student of the Bachelor of Technology in Timber Product Technology (kindly sponsored by Festool) and student Stuart Hayes received the award for Best Cornerstone Project (kindly sponsored by Carpentry Store).
Festool is an important industry partner for the Dublin School of Architecture and it is helping to ensure that DIT students are exposed to the latest techniques and technology. Festool GmbH is a leading European power tool company. Founded in 1925, it has over 300 patents and more than 80 awards for its products.
