Niall Holmes graduated with a PhD in concrete technology Trinity College Dublin and was previously employed as a postdoctoral research fellow in Queen’s University Belfast specialising in the areas of non-destructive testing of concrete structures and cement science. He has published over 50 research papers and technical reports his area of expertise and has developed two patents. He has successfully supervised a number of Masters and PhD student projects and postdoctoral staff.

 

Niall is a reviewer for two international journals and is involved in two Horizon 2020 COST Actions. He was a member of the Irish Concrete Society Council from 2011 to 2014 and a current member of Engineers Ireland Structures and Construction Committee. He acts as external examiner for two Irish academic institutions and an International PhD reviewer for University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan.

 

Niall has been a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland since 2007.
